Bio for Kristie Leigh Maguire:
Kristie Leigh Maguire is a multi-published, award-winning author. Her titles are Emails from the Edge: Memoirs of an Expat Wife, Second Chances, Affairs of the Heart: Desert Heat and Cabin Fever (Collector's Edition), Desert Heat, Cabin Fever, and co-author of No Lady and Her Tramp.
Ms. Maguire was voted Best Up and Coming Author of the Year and her novel, Desert Heat, was voted Best Romance of the Year by the Reader/Writer Poll at the Affair De Coeur Magazine (2003). Her novel, No Lady and Her Tramp (co-authored with Mark Haeuser), was voted at Number 9 in the Preditors & Editors Poll, and Cabin Fever was voted at Number 5 in the Preditors & Editors Poll (2005).
Ms. Maguire began her writing career in 1997 while living in Japan. She loved to read but could not find books that were written in English so she decided to try her hand at writing her own books. She soon discovered that she had the same passion for writing as she did for reading. Since romance was her favorite reading genre, romance is what she started out writing.
Kristie Leigh Maguire grew tired of working with publishers who didn't treat her as she thought an author should be treated, or either went out of business forcing her to go with other publishing houses to keep her titles in print. She founded her own publishing house, Star Publish LLC, in March 2004. As she stated, "I wanted to spare other authors some of the trials and tribulations that I had been through. I wanted to establish a publishing house that would treat its authors as STARS instead of just a number." In January 2008, she turned the Company over to T.C. McMullen. Maguire has created a new company, Book Covers and More. She is also the founder of the NUW (Not the Usual Way Authors Community), an online community for Indie Authors since January 2000.
Kristie Leigh Maguire resides with her husband in Nevada.
